What we do
We promote solutions to the complex challenges of the Pan-Amazon region through research, public policies, advocacy, and the defense of local rights, aiming for sustainable and responsible development.
Scientific research
01
Development of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research focused on sustainability—in its holistic sense—and the well-being of Amazonian communities. Production of socially, politically, and ecologically engaged research and materials.
02
Development of multi-modal research (construction of indicators, bibliographic, qualitative, quantitative, quali-quanti analyses, data analysis, action research, ethnographic research, longitudinal research, public policy analysis, etc.).
03
Adoption of socio-anthropological and sensitive procedures in all areas of knowledge (attentive listening, attention education, respect for local values and cosmologies, methodological intersectionality).
04
Promote national and international research and cooperation networks that address issues related to sustainability, climate justice, and public policies for the Pan-Amazon region;
Advocacy
01
Promote the training of community leaders, public officials, and members of civil society by offering in-person and/or distance learning courses and workshops on governance, natural resource management, and socio-environmental rights.
02
Promote advocacy and awareness campaigns aimed at protecting the human, territorial, and environmental rights of Amazonian communities, combating discriminatory and oppressive practices.
03
Develop and implement actions that promote the sustainable use of natural resources, respecting traditional knowledge and the region's biodiversity;
04
Promotion of actions and products that influence the flow and environment of decision-making spaces.
Communication
01
To edit, publish, and distribute educational, scientific, and technical materials, including books, articles, magazines, and digital content, that contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about the Amazon and its communities.
02
Produce and disseminate audiovisual, photographic, phonographic, physical and digital content in general that values the culture, biodiversity and socio-environmental challenges of the Pan-Amazon region.
