The Aruanã Pan-Amazonian Institute reinforces its commitment to valuing Brazil's sociobiodiversity and promoting multisectoral dialogue with the recent participation of its research director, Israel Araujo , in the 2nd Seminar on Agenda 2030 and the Peoples of the Cerrado . Held on July 2nd and 3rd, the event in Brasília brought together academics, leaders, representatives of quilombola and indigenous communities, and government officials.
Israel Araujo , Aruanã's research director, was present and moderated Panel 4: "Technical Diversity and Ecological Innovations." This session discussed practices and actions that contribute to ecological diversity in the Cerrado, promoting the exchange of knowledge between different sectors.
One of the seminar's outcomes was the drafting of the Cerrado Charter . This document was read by Indigenous leader and anthropologist Valdelice Veron Kaiwoá during a session in the Chamber of Deputies. The Charter was delivered to Federal Representative Reginaldo Veras and will be incorporated into ongoing efforts to promote and promote the Cerrado biome and its traditional cultural practices.
Aruanã's participation in this seminar highlights the institution's commitment to collaborating on initiatives that impact how biodiversity and Brazilian cultures are understood and valued. The institute reinforces the importance of connecting different areas of knowledge to develop solutions to the country's environmental and social challenges.
